Meagan McKenzie graduates with honors
from the University of Georgia and is thrilled when a firm in New
York City recruits her for a high-paying position as one of their
top accountants. Her dream job turns into a nightmare when she
discovers her employer is a notorious crime lord. Desperate for a
way out that doesn’t include getting killed, she secretly works with
the FBI to put together a money-laundering case that will put her
boss away and keep her safe. But when the year-long trial ends
without a guilty verdict, she’s forced to give up everything and
everyone she cares about and go into hiding in the Witness
Protection Program.
After his brother is killed
protecting Meagan, U.S. Deputy Marshal and former Green Beret, Riley
Jackson, volunteers to take his place. Riley wants to use his
position to find out if Meagan is really as innocent as she claims,
or whether she had something to do with his brother’s death. One
fiery inferno later Riley realizes there’s a mole in the Justice
Department and he and Meagan are on the run in the Smoky Mountains
of Tennessee. But after a few more close calls he begins to suspect
that Meagan isn’t the target – he is.

begins to close in on a suspect, he’s horrified to discover the
killer who attacked Amanda is the same one he once let go because of
a rookie mistake. Can Logan forgive himself in time to save
Amanda? Or will his own guilt destroy her last chance to win the
game?
